Digital Inking Brushes for Clip Studio Paint
Clip Studio Paint is my go-to program for sketching and inking on my computer and I started playing around with customizing brushes about 5 years ago. I was constantly searching for the perfect line when I found that what a control freak like myself needed was a little chaos. So here are my top 3 inking brushes that I always use:
The Pentagon - we don’t have favorites but this one is my favorite. The shape of the brush is a squashed pentagon that gives an incredible versatility in line. As a cartoonist, there’s nothing I love more than a nice thick line that tapers to nothing, and this brush delivers on that.
Texture Pen - The Pentagon is responsible for crisp lines but this pen is the opposite. Give your lines character with an almost crayon-like effect.
Hey Bloopy! - another instrument of chaos, Hey Bloopy delivers a line that moves from fat to thin and back again all on its own. I was trying to achieve the same effect by pushing down on my Wacom and lifting back up but then I found a much smarter way of working.
